Musically, I enjoy The Sound of Music and Edelweiss over Do Re Mi. But in terms of the story, this song within the narrative tops my list. This is where you see the montage of how Maria builds her entire relationship of respect, trust and love with these children. She teaches them music, but she also teaches them how to be kids, how to have fun, how to express themselves. This movie and this story means very little without that bond between Maria and the VonTrapp children so I love to see where it all truly began to grow.
